Katherine K. Hanley is a former Secretary of the Commonwealth of Virginia, former Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and Providence District Supervisor, and former member of the Fairfax County School Board. She served on the WMATA (Metro) Board of Directors, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the regional Transportation Planning Board, the Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Committee, and was appointed the Northern Virginia District Representative on the Commonwealth Transportation Board. She also served as President of both the Virginia Association of Counties and the Virginia Municipal League. Recently, Ms. Hanley served on the Board of Directors of the Inova Health System and the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, and is currently Secretary of the Fairfax County Electoral Board. Ms. Hanley earned bachelor’s degrees in French civilization and secondary education from the University of Missouri, and an M.A.T from Harvard University. She is a resident of Reston, Virginia, and is an appointee of the Governor of Virginia.
Ms. Hanley is Co-Chair of the Human Resources Committee. She also serves on the Business Administration, Ethics Review, Executive and Governance, Environment, Social and Governance, Finance Committee Ad Hoc Labor Committee and Strategic Development Committees.
