The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority issued the following statement congratulating Anthony Foxx on his confirmation as the next U.S. Secretary of Transportation:

Bruce A. Gates has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors. He succeeds board member Todd Stottlemyer as a Virginia appointee on the board.

The DCAC is an eight-member committee that advises the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority on issues related to the management, improvement and expansion of the Dulles Corridor, as well as future changes to toll rates on the Dulles Toll Road to fund roadway improvements and the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is conducting an emergency preparedness exercise at Washington Dulles International Airport on Saturday, May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m. A simulated aircraft accident will test the Airport’s emergency plan and provide hands-on training to airport and mutual aid emergency response personnel.
The exercise will take place on a closed runway and will not affect normal airport operations. It will include the following elements to simulate the realism of an actual emergency:
