The National Cherry Blossom festival is approaching and Washington’s Airports are getting ready for the celebration with pink lighting and cherry blossom-themed promotions. 

Reagan National Airport has added pink lights to its parking structures, which will be visible through the garages’ glass walls and Washington Dulles International will bask the Main Terminal in pink lighting in the evenings. (photos of the lighting are below)

Passengers can embrace the cherry blossom spirit by enjoying food and retail offerings promoting the annual spring event. Specials featured at the airport stores include a cherry blossom-themed sidewalk sale, pink-themed food and drinks; and discounts on purchases. “Each year, Reagan National and Washington Dulles International airports join the National Capital Region in welcoming Spring by celebrating the National Cherry Blossom Festival,” Jack Potter, Airports Authority President and CEO said. “When passengers visit the nation’s capital during this celebration, we want them to feel like they have stepped directly into the festival. Travelers will be greeted by cherry blossom colors, themes and events as they walk through Washington’s airports.”

In addition to pink lighting, performances, and cherry blossom specials at shops and restaurants at both Reagan National and Dulles International, there will be a drawing for two tickets to attend the National Cherry Blossom Festival parade.
