Alexandria, VA— U.S. Airways' low-cost carrier service, MetroJet, began serving Washington Dulles International Airport on December 2 with daily flights to Orlando.

MetroJet provides three daily non-stop flights to Orlando and adds a fourth to that city as well as two new daily non-stop flights to Tampa on December 22. On January 6 next year, MetroJet will expand service to Fort Lauderdale with two daily non-stop flights.

Said James A. Wilding, President/CEO of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, "We are very pleased to welcome MetroJet to Washington Dulles International Airport. We know the importance of affordable, low cost service to air travelers of our region and we believe the addition of MetroJet to Dulles is a natural."

Passengers and airline service continue to grow at Dulles Airport which served an additional one million passengers in 1997 for a total of nearly 14 million passengers. Estimates indicate a greater growth rate for 1998.
