Quince T. Brinkley, vice president and secretary, has announced that he will leave the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to serve as executive director of the Westside Future Fund in Atlanta. His last day will be July 10.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the employees of MWAA, the board of directors, and serving the traveling public during my time at the Airports Authority,” said Brinkley.

Brinkley joined the Airports Authority in 2008. As vice president and secretary, he serves as chief of staff to the chairman of the board of directors and its 16 other members, providing executive, policy and administrative support to ensure the board and executive leadership are briefed on issues of corporate governance and matters for consideration. He is the liaison between the board and the staff of the Airports Authority, as well as businesses and members of the public interacting with the board.

“Quince has been an invaluable, and many times the critical, component of the organization – always helping, advising and counseling,” said Frank M. Conner III, chairman of the board of directors. “He has added so much to MWAA during the past seven years and we will miss his talent and his integrity and him greatly.”

Prior to joining the Airports Authority, Brinkley served in a variety of capacities in the financial and non-profit sectors, including as vice president/portfolio manager for Wachovia Securities, Northeast regional business/community development manager for Freddie Mac, and assistant executive & acting executive director of the Urban Residential Development Corporation in Atlanta.

Under the board’s bylaws, the assistant secretary, Lisa Makle-Brooks, will serve as acting secretary. A new secretary will be elected during the board’s annual elections at its monthly meeting in November.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, established in 1987 by the governments of Virginia and the District of Columbia, manages and operates Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International airports, which together serve more than 40 million passengers a year. The Airports Authority also operates and maintains the Dulles Airport Access Road and the Dulles Toll Road and manages construction of the Silver Line project, a 23-mile extension of the Washington region’s Metrorail system into Loudoun County, Va. No tax dollars are used to operate the toll road, which is funded by toll revenues, or the airports, which are funded through aircraft landing fees, rents and revenues from concessions. The Airports Authority generates more than 387,000 jobs in the National Capital Region.
