Dulles, Virginia, June 18, 2002 - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in cooperation with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), invites the public to attend a Scoping Workshop on Wednesday, June 26 in Fairfax County at Westfield High School on at 4700 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly, Virginia or on Thursday, June 27 in Loudoun County at Farmwell Station Middle School at 44281 Gloucester Parkway, Ashburn, Virginia.

The purpose of the scoping workshop is to solicit public input on the preparation of an EIS for proposed new air-carrier runways and related improvements at Dulles.
Scoping is an early and open process designed to determine the range of actions, alternatives, and potential impacts to be considered in an EIS, and to identify significant issues.
Representatives of the EIS Study Team, which includes aviation planners and engineers as well as environmental specialists from the FAA, MWAA and project consultants will be available to answer questions about the study. The public will be asked to consider and comment on potential project-related impacts to environmental
