Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) announced Wednesday the inaugural food, beverage and retail selections for new airport buildings under construction as part of Project Journey. More than 14,000 square feet of new food, beverage and retail options will be added to the airport’s wide array of passenger choices when new security checkpoints and a 14-gate concourse open to the public. The six food and beverage concessions are:
- Elevation Burger, operated by Nagaria Enterprises, LLC
- Founding Farmers, operated by Founding Farmers and Baldi Management Group
- Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, operated by Mezeh DCA, LLC & MEM Concessions
- Peet’s Coffee, operated by MCA/TH/ACP JV and ATL Concessionaire Co., LLC
- P.F. Chang’s, operated by MCA/TH/ACP JV and ATL Concessionaire Co., LLC
- Timber Pizza Company, operated by Jackmont Hospitality and Baldi Management Group
In addition, WH Smith USA Retail will operate travel essentials shops under the brands Capitol File and WH Smith Café, plus a souvenir retailer. These locations, in both the new concourse and security checkpoints will offer bottled beverages, snacks, books/magazines and other grab and go convenience items for travelers. The new concourse will also feature a second airport location for InMotion Entertainment, which offers technology items.
“The selection of these concessionaires in addition to existing options at Reagan National opens the door to a new level of choice that will transform the passenger experience. We think customers will ultimately enjoy the airport’s expanded variety of locally well-known brands alongside nationally recognized names,” said Jerome L. Davis, executive vice president and chief revenue officer for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
The concessionaires were chosen following a competitive bidding process and will be managed by Marketplace Development, who oversees concessions at both Reagan National and Dulles International airports. Concessions openings are planned to coincide with completion of the new airport facilities in 2021.
Project Journey is Reagan National Airport’s $1 billion construction project to build two new security checkpoints and a new concourse to replace the 14 outdoor gates currently served by buses from Gate 35X.
