All Dulles International and Reagan National airport employees eligible to receive Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson vaccines
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, in coordination with Giant Food, will be providing COVID-19 vaccines to all airport employees at Reagan National and Dulles International airports this fall. All badged airport employees are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the airport’s Giant vaccine clinics; qualifying employees may also receive their Pfizer-BioNTech booster.
“We are grateful for all the essential employees who make up our airport community and applaud these frontline workers who came to work at Washington, D.C.’s airports every day throughout the pandemic,” said Tony Vegliante, Airports Authority senior vice president for Human Resources. “We know that being vaccinated against COVID-19 is an important step toward ending the pandemic. The Airports Authority encourages all airport employees to take advantage of this opportunity to get fully vaccinated.”
“We are proud to work alongside the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to vaccinate airport employees,” said Paul Zvaleny, director of Pharmacy Operations at Giant Food. “We have a responsibility and opportunity to help our communities tremendously, which is why our Giant pharmacists go one step further and travel for immunization clinics. We want to make getting vaccinated is easy and accessible for all, because protecting our neighbors from COVID-19 is of the utmost importance.”
Employees with a current airport badge at Dulles International or Reagan National should check with their manager for vaccine clinic dates. At this time, the Airports Authority is not offering the vaccine to the general public but encourages all passengers to check with their airline prior to travel to understand vaccine requirements at their destination.
