Alexandria, VA— The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will open over 1,300 parking spaces in a new Gold Economy Lot at Washington Dulles International Airport on November 3, 1998. This brings the total number of spaces at Dulles to over 13,500.
"With this addition, we have added more than 3,400 new parking spaces at Dulles this year," said Airports Authority President/CEO James A. Wilding. "We recognize the need for parking at Dulles as new air service is added and passenger numbers increase."
The four Economy Parking lots -- Blue, Green, Red and Gold -- located at the north end of the airport, provide long-term parking for travelers who park and fly. The Red lot was opened in May, along with a new Daily Lot 2.
The addition of the new Gold Lot will also provide a new public entrance to the lot with an automatic ticket dispenser.
The Airports Authority is also currently designing the first parking garage at Dulles Airport which will provide 4,000 covered parking spaces.
