Washington Dulles International Airport welcomes its 17th and 18th new international airlines when Sabena and BWIA International Airways (BWIA) begin service on October 31 with Sabena flying to Brussels, Belgium and BWIA flying to Trinidad, West Indies.

Said James A. Wilding, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority President, "Sabena and BWIA are great additions to our blue chip roster of international carriers. The service these carriers bring to our region is important as we continue to meet the needs of the traveling public and shippers. Sabena brings its extensive network in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. BWIA offers three outstanding Caribbean destinations that travelers will enjoy."

Sabena will use an Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its flights five times per week to Brussels, Belgium. The flight will arrive at Dulles at 1:45 p.m. and depart at 6:25 p.m. every day except Monday and Wednesday.

BWIA inaugurates service to the Caribbean with four weekly direct flights to Port of Spain, Trinidad. Two flights will have stopovers in Antigua and two in Barbados before continuing on to Trinidad.

On Wednesdays and Sundays, British West Indies will arrive at Dulles at 12:05 p.m. and depart for Barbados at 1:30 p.m., continuing to Trinidad. The flight schedule times for Thursday and Saturday are identical, but the flight departs for Antigua, before continuing on to Trinidad.

Dulles now offers direct service to 30 international markets with almost 250 weekly flights by 18 international airlines. Dulles Airport has served more than 13 million passengers in the first eight months of 1999, a 22% increase compared to 1998.
