“Tip-A-Cop” Fundraising Event Benefits Special Olympics
Some Airports Authority Police officers will bring a whole new meaning to “protect and serve” when they serve up burgers and fries for a good cause at the Red Robin Restaurant in Chantilly on Saturday, April 17. Tip-A-Cop is a fundraising event for The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics. Officers from several law enforcement agencies, including the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, will serve as “celebrity waiters” during the lunch and dinner shifts at Red Robin locations across Virginia. All tips they receive will go to Special Olympics. WHAT: Tip-A-Cop Airports Authority Police Officers serving as “celebrity waiters” with their tips benefitting Special Olympics WHEN: Saturday, April 17 11 AM to 3 PM (Lunch) and 4 to 8 PM (Dinner) WHERE: Red Robin Restaurant Chantilly Crossing Shopping Center (near the intersection of Routes 28 and 50) 14450 Chantilly Crossing Lane, Chantilly, VA 20151 WHY: This is a fundraising event for The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics. Red Robin locations across Virginia are hosting Tip-A-Cop events this day with all “tips” benefitting Special Olympics. HOW DOES Customers may place a special tip for Special Olympics in the envelope IT WORK? on their table or by adding to their food bill if paying by credit card. This tip is in addition to the normal gratuity they leave their server with all donations going directly to Special Olympics Virginia. Tip-A-Cop is one of many events Airports Authority Police participate in to support Special Olympics Virginia. Join us on Saturday, September 25 for the Dulles Day Family Festival featuring the 18th annual Plane Pull. The Plane Pull pits teams of 25 people in a tug-of-war match against a FedEx jet.
