Upon your departure, complimentary outbound transportation from IPW host hotels to Dulles International (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA) will be available on Thursday, June 8th.  Plan to arrive at our airports early and enjoy a variety of services and amenities, such as spa treatments, regional and brand name shopping,full service, and sit-down dining options from award winning restaurants.  Don’t forget to stop by the Duty Free Americas stores at both airports and splurge on something special using the exclusive IPW discount coupon that was placed in your gift bag from Duty Free Americas. Dulles International Airport has the fastest customs wait times in the nation and a variety of options to get you through security quick and easy. Domestic passengers can enroll in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) pre-check program either online or inside the airport as another means to move through security checkpoints easily.

Authorized Uber and Lyft drivers may pick up their customers at Dulles International. Customers can access services from their smartphone and coordinate directly with their driver for pickup location.
 

Taxi Cabs

Operated by Washington Flyer Taxi (703-572-7294). No reservations required. Cabs available 24 hours / 7 days. From baggage claim area, go down ramp towards Door #2 or Door #6 and visit dispatch counter. Cash or credit card accepted.
 

Shared Van

SuperShuttle (1-800-258-3826) and Supreme Shuttle (1-800-590-0000) vans transport groups of passengers to each of their destinations. From baggage claim area, go down ramp towards Door #2 or Door #6 and visit dispatch counter. Cash or credit card accepted.
 

Metrorail Train

Ride Silver Line Express bus nonstop from Dulles to rail station for $5 each way (cash or credit card accepted), then purchase Metrorail “SmarTrip” farecard with cash or credit card at rail station. Silver Line Express ticket counter and bus stop are located at Arrivals Door #4. Bus runs nonstop to Wiehle-Reston East station on Metrorail Silver Line every 15-20 minutes. Train runs to downtown Washington, D.C. and points in between. No rail service during overnight hours.

 

 

 Options are limited to local buses. Metrobus route 5A runs to downtown Washington, D.C. Fairfax Connector Bus Route 983 runs to the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum and to Reston, VA when the museum is open. Route 981 runs only to Reston outside of museum hours. Both routes also serve the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station.
 

Reagan National Airport has a variety of convenient transportation options for getting to and from the airport. Passengers can get to any location on the Metrorail system from the Metrorail station connected to Terminal B/C. Other ground transportation options include taxis and rental cars. For those preferring the convenience of driving their own vehicle, Reagan National has a variety of parking and rental car options. Airport parking reservations can be made online in advance.

On-Airport Shuttle Bus Service 

Reagan National Airport offers free shuttle service to help passengers and employees navigate the airport. Look for the following signs to choose the appropriate bus to suit your needs. The signs will be located on the front and side of the bus. Shuttle bus service operates 24 hours a day.

  • "All Terminals" Use this bus to go between Terminals A, B, and C and to the Metrorail Station. 
  • "Economy" Use this bus to go to the Economy parking lot.
  • "Rental Car/ Garage Parking/Metro" Use this bus to go to the Rental Car facilities, the Terminal A, B, and C parking garages and the Metrorail station.
 

Metrorail Station

The Washington, DC Metrorail system has an elevated Metrorail station connected to the concourse level of Terminals B and C at Reagan National Airport. The Metrorail system provides easy and affordable access to locations throughout Washington, Virginia and Maryland.

 Getting to the Metrorail station from the Terminals:

  •  Terminal B and C: Use either of two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level which connect directly to the station.
  • Terminal A: Exit the terminal to the streetside curb, and board any “Airport Shuttle” bus. At the stops for Terminal B/C or Parking Garages B and C you can access an enclosed bridge which connects to the Metrorail station. ·

Getting to the Terminals from the Metrorail station:

  • Terminal C: Follow “Terminal C” signs to the north end of the train platform and exit the station. A pedestrian bridge connects directly to the Terminal’s Concourse level.
  • Terminal B: Follow “Terminal B” signs to the south end of the train platform and exit the station. A pedestrian bridge connects directly to the Terminal’s Concourse level.
  • Terminal A: Go to either end of the train platform and exit the station towards the parking garage. Take the elevator or stairway to the street level below and board any "Airport Shuttle" bus.
  • Elevator access: The elevator is located at the center of the train platform. Follow the sloped sidewalk at ground level which connects to the “Terminal B” and “Terminal C” pedestrian bridges. 

Metrorail Fares and Farecards

  • Metrorail farecards may be purchased at machines located at all entrances to the Airport Metrorail station. The station is also fully accessible via elevators.
  • Each person needs his/her own farecard to enter and exit Metrorail. However, up to two children under age five may travel for free with each fare paying adult.

Mobile Passport App

Washington Dulles International Airport is pleased to offer US citizens returning to the United States a faster process through US Customs. Eligible travelers with a smartphone or tablet can download the Mobile Passport Control app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
 

Passport Kiosk

Upon your arrival at Dulles International Airport, automated kiosks are available to speed your trip through the inspection process, with no paper forms required. There are four airline lounges at Reagan National offered for airline club members They are located after security, one level up from the checkpoint (take elevator to 3rd floor). 

  • American Admirals Club(2 locations): located behind security at gates 35 - 45 and also behind security at gates 23-34.
  • Delta Sky Club: located behind security at gates 10 - 22 
  • United Club: located behind security at gates 10 - 22 (access across from gate 11).
