The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is hosting a Police Officer Recruitment Event on: 

• Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025

• Time: Promptly at 8:00 A.M. – Anyone who arrives after 8:00 A.M. will not be admitted. We encourage you to arrive early.

• Location: Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy, located at 45299 Research Place, Ashburn, VA 20147.

This is an all day event. Participants are required to wear athletic clothing, and comfortable running shoes to participate in the Physical Agility Test (PAT). Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
 

RECRUITING FOR THESE POSITIONS:
Airport Police Officer Trainee ($10K SIGN-ON-BONUS)

• This job posting is for entry-level applicants with no previous law enforcement experience.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 20 years, 6 months of age.

Lateral airport Police Officer (10K Sign-on-Bonus)

• A certified law enforcement officer with at  least three (3) years of experience in a full-service law enforcement agency
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer by Virginia Department of Criminal Justice System within five months of hire.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This event starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. and allows candidates to complete multiple steps of the application process in one day.

• Physical Agility Test (PAT): candidates must complete 18 push ups, 23 sit ups within 1-minute, a 1.5 mile run within 1 6 minutes and 59 seconds and complete a timed obstacle course (1 minute and 17 seconds)
• Police Officers Written Exam- candidates who pass the PAT will take this exam. Lateral candidates are exempt.
• Interview Panel – three members from our public safety department will interview candidates who successfully pass both the PAT and written exam.
• Background Meeting – meet with a background investigator for a preliminary review of your background.
