Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority

More Parking is Coming to Reagan National

Due to the demand for parking at Reagan National, we are adding over 1400 spaces to the airport's existing parking garages by building an additional level.  The project is being constructed in phases in order to minimize the temporary loss of parking space while construction is underway.  This web page will be updated with new information as the project moves forward.

PARKING GARAGE A: VERY LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE DURING EXPANSION WORK

The expansion of Garage A will add 581 spaces on a new, fifth level when complete (see right portion of the diagram above).  To accomodate construction work, the entire top level will be closed until the expansion is completed.  Only 277 spaces in Garage A will be available for public parking.

  • Currently in Garage A, public parking is only available on level 1.
  • If signage at the Garage A entrance indicates "FULL," please proceed to Garage B/C.  Additional spaces have opened on a new, fifth level there.
  • In the event Garage B/C is full, proceed to Economy parking.  The Airports Authority has an additional lot for overflow parking in the event all regular lots are full.  Click here to view real-time parking availability information.
  • Rental Car operations will continue as normal in Garage A throughout the parking expansion project.

GARAGE B/C: FINAL PHASE OF EXPANSION IS NEARING COMPLETION

Most of the 843 parking spaces on the new fifth level of Garage B/C are now open. Spaces on level 4 that were closed during construction are once again available for parking.

Elevators to all levels are now in service at the south end (Terminal B).  Disabled customers parking on the top level should use the elevators while the access ramp at the north end (Terminal C) is being completed.

For your safety, please use caution near the few remaining construction areas within the garage.

AIRPORT TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES IN THE AREA OF GARAGE B/C:

  • As you pass the garage's vehicle entrances/exits, the left lane of the roadway is closed.
  • The "Return to Airport" ramp has returned to its original location. Follow posted signs.

Project Phases and Milestones

The project is now underway.  Below is a description of the project's phases:
