The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has named Deputy General Counsel Claire McKenna as its next senior vice president and general counsel, effective May 1. She succeeds Ashley Carvalho, who announced plans to  leave the Airports Authority in May due to personal family reasons.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority welcomed Trent Morse on January 21, 2026, to its board of directors for a six-year term. Morse is a federal appointee of President Donald J. Trump.

Leaders of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation met Thursday in Taipei, Taiwan, to sign an agreement promoting travel connectivity between Washington, D.C., and Taipei. Washington is the largest passenger revenue market currently without a non-stop international flight to Taiwan-Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority on Wednesday named Keith Autry as vice president for engineering and Dulles capital programs. The action fills a vacancy created when Thomas R. Beatty was promoted in March 2025 to executive vice president and chief operations officer.
