John A. Braun has been the President and Chairman of the Board at Dynamis, Inc. since its inception in February 2008, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in aviation, government, and military issues. Prior to Dynamis' founding, he served as the Vice President of Washington, DC Operations for Teledyne Technologies, one of the nation's largest aviation and aerospace contractors. At Teledyne, he served as the senior executive in the National Capital Region, overseeing numerous aviation, defense, and aerospace initiatives.
Prior to joining Teledyne, Mr. Braun was the Military Legislative Assistant to Congressman Bud Cramer, supporting the Congressman's work on the House Appropriations Committee's VA-HUD-Independent Agencies Subcommittee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In this role, he advised the Congressman on defense, space, aviation, and homeland security matters.
Mr. Braun also has a long history working in support of the U.S. Armed Forces, primarily with the US Air Force. Prior to his work with Congress, he served in the Pentagon as a Senior Policy Analyst in the National Security Policy Division of U.S. Air Force Headquarters, as well as the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition.
Prior to relocating to DC, Mr. Braun worked in campaign politics in the State of Alabama, where he acted as a Political Director for several local and state-wide political campaigns.
In recognition of his service to his country and his community, Mr. Braun was awarded an honorary appointment as a Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard. From 2014 to 2018, he served on the Virginia Secure Commonwealth Panel, where he supported the organizational mission to monitor and assess statewide prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives in support of emergency preparedness across the Commonwealth.
Mr. Braun is also active in many civic and charitable organizations throughout the Washington, DC area. He has served on several boards, including the World Affairs Council, the Northern Virginia chapter of Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), and the Pheo Para Alliance, a charitable organization dedicated to the search for a cure to neuroendocrine diseases. Mr. Braun is an appointee of the Governor of Virginia.
Mr. Braun serves as Co-Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Public Safety and Risk Management Committees. He also serves on the Finance , the Ad Hoc Labor, the Environment, Social and Governance and Strategic Development Committees.
